New stadium Inter
Inter intend to have their own purpose-built stadium by 2016, the Corrieredello Sport is reporting. The Nerazzurri currently share the council-owned Stadio Meazza with city rivals Milan, an arena that is set to undergo a number of improvements in the near future. However, the Moratti family are planning to turn their back on San Siro in favour of a new home which will exclusively belong to them. The club have five possible sites in mind and have already approached a construction company regarding the build. They hope to have the project completed in time for the start of the 2016-17 campaign. A new arena should dramatically increase stadium revenue given that they net just €28m a season by using San Siro.
Stramaccioni had been managing Inter’s Under-19 team before being installed as boss in March following the departure of Claudio Ranieri.
Inter president Massimo Moratti made it known that his club was interested in retaining Stramaccioni, who still must take part in the next UEFA Pro Licence course, which is a necessity for coaches in Serie A.
But with Stramaccioni set to complete the course, the contract has been finalized and he is tied to Inter until June 2015.
